NZ Bridge- NZ National Bridge Congress

NEW ZEALAND BRIDGE CONGRESS – NEW ZEALAND’S PREMIER BRIDGE EVENT

PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR NATIONAL CONGRESS HAS MOVED HOME. THE NEW VENUE IS: Lion Foundation Centre, Bay Park, 81 Truman Lane, Mt Maunganui

After the disappointment of not being able to hold a National Congress in 2020, we look forward to staging the event in a new venue this year. There will not just be a new home but there will be many other changes as well. The 35th New Zealand National Bridge Congress is the premier bridge event in our annual calendar and was last attended by over 700 players in 2019. In 2021, it will be held at “The Mount” from Saturday 25th September to Saturday 2nd October 2021 with events open to all levels of players, from grand-master to Novice players. One change, is that there will no longer be Packages. You enter as many or as few as you wish. Each event, including the different stages of the New Zealand Open Teams, has its own separate price.

NO MORE PACKAGES BUT:
We encourage players to pre-enter all events in which you might play even if your progress in the New Zealand Open Teams may cause that to change. You do not have to pay at the time you register for events though payments made by 31st August 2021 will attract a 10% discount. Unfortunately, there will no longer be subsidies for South Island players.

The total cost for playing 8 days of bridge from Saturday to Saturday will be $520 per player. Take advantage of the prompt payment discount and that reduces to $468.
Please enter events as soon as you can. Although entries will be accepted up to about a day in advance for most events ( only a week in advance for NZ Open and Restricted Open Pairs), we encourage players to enter early. You have to enter each event you expect to play with the exception of the knock-out rounds of New Zealand Open Teams. Please enter the events you will play assuming your team is eliminated from New Zealand Open Teams. If your team reaches the knock-out stages, we will automatically withdraw you from the other events and place you into the knock-out stages. The cost of the knock-out stages is the same as the cost of the other events.

ENTERING AND PAYING
The processes of entering and paying are separate. Firstly you need to be registered on this site to be logged in to enter events and pay. To enter any event click the “Enter Now” button within each event and you can then enter your details and those of your partner or team. Every event must be entered individually. NB: Paying for a Package does not mean you are entered for events.

FULL-TIME STUDENT YOUTH PLAYERS
There is a special rate for youth players who are full-time students. Enter “youth” in the promo code at the final stages of the checkout and you get a 50% discount on any Congress package or event.
