Just announced Peking Duck, Australian award winning ARIA artists will be filling the dance floor at Tauranga’s premier U18 NYE Frequency 2016.
The first line-up for Frequency NYE, Tauranga’s New Year’s Eve event for under 18s has been announced. Singer-songwriter Donell Lewis, Ministry of Sound DJ Mikael Wills and Kiwi music duo Times x Two will be providing the soundtrack to the alcohol free whiteout rave on Saturday, 31 December at Trustpower Baypark Arena.
From home-grown hip hop to electronic beats, there will be something for everyone at the inaugural music event, creating a unique NYE experience for the younger generation. Frequency NYE is run by leading NZ event promoters Audiology and Pato Entertainment in partnership with Tauranga City Council and supported by Mai FM.
The new event has been introduced as part of this year’s changed event offering in Tauranga to meet the demand for a youth-targeted event in the city. This demand was evident from the demographic profile of 2015/16 New Year’s Eve attendees. Frequency NYE is strictly for attendees under 18 years of age. Providing a fun and safe environment is the highest priority for the event.
Among the line-up is singer, songwriter and producer Donell Lewis who has come a long way since his debut in 2012 after countless tours, mixtapes and singles. With a knack for effortlessly catchy choruses and production, Donell has not only produced and written for himself, but for many artists all over New Zealand, Australia, the U.S. and Europe.
Mikael Wills, ZM’s Ministry of Sound DJ and known globally by his bootleg remixes of the international top40, is also set to take the stage for Frequency NYE. His two latest singles ‘Fall Too Fast’ and ‘Give It All’ (25 November) combine pop rock influenced vocals with his modern taste of electronic music leading up to a new album next year.
Times x Two, DJ Tone Def & MC Tav One-Two and Lucas Jory round up the first set of acts announced today.
Further line-up announcements are to come in the following weeks. Early bird tickets will go on sale on Monday, 7 November at 7pm and will include a free bus shuttle to get attendees home safely. Early bird tickets are $19 plus booking fee, and $25 after the early bird period.
